Years of Experience Behind Every Team Roping Saddle
Team roping demands a saddle built for two very different jobs — chasing hard out of the box, then sitting back down to control the horse through the corner. Slone Saddles has built team roping saddles for nearly 40 years, refined through real competition experience rather than guesswork. Explore your options below, or go straight to our flagship Diamond S Series Team Roping Saddles.

What Makes a Team Roping Saddle Different
Team roping asks a saddle to do two jobs at once. During the run, it needs the same forward balance and secure seat that any roping event calls for. But the moment the header makes the catch, the rider sits back down, takes their dally, and has to stay in control while turning the steer for the heeler — a different physical demand than a calf roper or steer wrestler ever faces.
That’s why a true team roping saddle carries a deeper seat than a calf roping saddle, along with a horn shaped to help hold the dally secure even when it rides up higher than planned. Every Slone team roping saddle also uses a double-riveted rigging design that ties the rigging and skirt together, spreading the pull evenly across the tree instead of concentrating stress in one spot — exactly where trees on lesser saddles tend to fail first.
Choose Your Series
Every Slone team roping saddle starts with the same event-specific tree design. From there, choose the series that fits your budget and finish.
Built by a Real Team Roper
Slone Saddles was founded by Tod Slone, a seven-time PRCA National Finals Rodeo qualifier who spent decades roping before he ever built a saddle. That firsthand experience is why the tree geometry, seat depth, and horn shape on every team roping saddle we build come from real runs, not a drafting table. Slone Saddles has also served as the official saddle sponsor of the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) and National Junior High School Rodeo Association (NJHSRA) for more than 15 years, outfitting some of the country’s best young team ropers with event-specific gear.
